Can Blacks Be Racist?

I've heard the question asked more than once: "Can blacks be racist?". The first time heard the question, I have to admit, I was taken off guard. To me, it was a simple answer. Yes. Until I did the research. At the time, I didn't understand the concept of racism. I hadn't quite come the the understanding, that racism was not just about the abhorrence of one race to another. No, racism goes much, much deeper than that! Racism is truly a crime against humanity. Racism is a slow, rotting death. It permeates from the inside out. And we've been bamboozled to believe otherwise. Allow me to explain. The below quote is from Dick Gregory. This in my opinion, is the "sum of the whole", the "crux of the situation"...

"Somewhere down the line, we've exchanged freedom for education"

~Dick Gregory

This is where racism begins. Racism is not condensed down to one particular person, or one particular race of people. Racism is a SYSTEM. Racism isn't solely just about your next door neighbor hating you because of your skin color. No. Your next door neighbor couldn't do has no power when it comes to racism. Even if he is of the so called 'majority'. Your next door neighbor can only make an impact on a surface level. Because racism is a system.

Below are but a few examples of systematic racism.

1) RACISM will cause the property value on a minority owner's home to be valued at 1/3 less, the value of their neighbor's home, located in the same neighborhood.

2) RACISM will mandate children be designated to a certain area for an education.

3) RACISM will cause and unjust and imbalanced judicial system, where minorities are incarcerated at an alarmingly disproportionate rate, than their white counterparts.

4) RACISM will cause poor education, in areas with little to no wealth codes.

Again, somewhere down the line, we've exchanged freedom for education. Part of the problem is acknowledging that THERE IS A PROBLEM. Collectively, we all need not agree on this particular view of racism. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and thoughts. In unity though...we could make shit happen. The way i see the shit...we're half way through the battle! Acknowledgement releases a lot of built up shit. In the words of Ceelo: "there ain't a minute that goes by that I don't believe we can fly!"
