Intentions...What Are They Exactly?

Intentions..."what are they EXACTLY?

Let's get straight to it! We bout to get in there, like booty hair! Babee! ;) First things first, intentions can fall under many categories and serve many purposes. Good intentions often brings with it, healing, success, better health, love etc. The number one rule of creation is this: "energy flows to where your intention goes."

Anything that has ever been designed, produced or created within this universe, has started with an intention! The technical definition of intention is an aim or plan that is actively "put out" or "spoken" into the Universe. Setting an intention is simply the act of stating what you intend to accomplish through your actions. Once your intention is spoken to the universe, you then become a co-creater with the universe! Your intentions have power! And that power is the starting point of your dreams! When we decide to put our intentions out into the universe, amazing shit can happen! You want that new job?...speak that shit! You desire a new car?...believe that shit! You want money in the bank?...set an intention for all that shit! Nothing is off limits when dealing with the MIND. The mind is a powerful thing baby Luv!

The word intention in Buddhism, is also called the inner cause. In order for any event to happen, there must be two factors present, those factors are: inner cause and external conditions. Intentions by itself are not enough to make "a happening" take place. It has to first meet the conditions mentioned above, and when both merge, THEN an event motivated by intention (inner cause) happens. When setting intentions, take into consideration others who would be affected by your actions. Consider the mutual benefit for all involved.

Now let's look into the word "spiritual". The dictionary meaning of the word 'spiritual' points to a meaning of deep thoughts, feelings, or emotions. In religion, the term spiritual carrys a different meaning all together. The word religion, is defined as: spiritual practices based upon a belief system. Key word: system. We all hold some type of belief, but not all beliefs are an actual system.

Bringing both together is a powerful MF force! First things first, when setting an intention, it helps to first identify the intention. In other words...know what TF you want first! Then find a few things to give gratitude to the universe for. Gratitude is a very important part of the intention setting process. It is not wise to be in a mind state of scarcity, lack or insecurity. This is why gratitude is important. After the intention has been identified, and gratitude given, the next step would be, to announce it to the universe!

It's important to phrase the intention as 'positive'. It's a fact that negative emotions can overpower positive ones. Your intentions should be realistic and doable. Start with something that's a typical part of your day. Let's say you hate getting out of bed for work on Mondays, set an intention! Your intention may go something like this: "I intend to wake refreshed, aware and cheerful on Monday! The more you become accustomed to setting daily intentions, the easier it becomes.

One of the most important parts of setting an intention, is belief. Thinks of your beliefs when setting an intention. Look within to find any limited thinking and/or old outdated beliefs systems. Limiting beliefs are, convictions believed to be absolutely true. These beliefs, have a negative impact on your life that hold you back in some way. Any doubt in your mind is going to be a "blocker" for receiving what you intend to achieve. Not believing is a barrier as well. Try setting your mindset to match your desire with your beliefs. For starters, keep it positive and aim for short term.

Choose intentions that can evolve, as you evolve and grow. Or set new ones as you grow. Intentions and goals shouldn't be altered too frequently though. An intention can become the driving force behind your goals and visions, if that is your choosing. Intentions are not the same as goals. Goals are more closely related to obtaining material things.

Intentions are not prayers but they are similar in many ways. They both pinpoint your desires to the universe. Intentions are addressed to ourselves, whereas prayers are addressed to a higher power. With intentions, we address ourselves, acknowledging we have the power to make shit shake! With prayer, a higher power is being addressed and asked for help, in bringing to reality what we are asking for.

Intention and prayer work hand in hand. The spoken word isn't always necessary for the universe to hear and act on your words. Thinking them is enough! In summary, setting intentions is about harnessing the power of thought and using it to turn our ideal life into reality.

Set your intentions now!

Love and Light!
